Manali to Baralacha Pass Tour

Baralacha La (Baralacha Pass) is a high-altitude mountain pass in the Zanskar range that serves as a critical link on the Leh-Manali Highway. Standing at 4,890 meters (16,043 feet), it is significantly higher than Rohtang Pass and is often considered one of the most physically demanding yet visually stunning stretches of the journey to Ladakh.

Itinerary

Manali to Solang Valley 

Solang Valley is the “Adventure Capital” of Himachal Pradesh. Located about 14 km from Manali, the venue for Adventure Activities such as Ropeway Joyride, Paragliding & other adventure games.

Solang Valley to Atal Tunnel

The Atal Tunnel is a 9.02 km engineering marvel that has fundamentally changed travel in the Himalayas. It bypasses the treacherous Rohtang Pass, cutting the journey from Manali to the Lahaul Valley from 4 hours to just about 30 minutes.

Atal tunnel to Sissu

Sissu, also known as Khwaling, is the first major village you encounter after exiting the Atal Tunnel into the Lahaul Valley. Located at an altitude of 3,120 meters, it has shifted from a quiet summer transit point to a premier year-round destination for snow lovers.

Sissu to Darcha

Darcha is the northernmost permanent settlement in Himachal Pradesh, located at an altitude of 3,360 meters (11,020 feet). While often seen as a mere checkpoint on the way to Leh, it is the true “frontier town” where the motorable road ends and the wild, high-altitude trekking trails begin.

Darcha to Jispa

Jispa is widely considered the most beautiful village in the Lahaul Valley. Located at an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,500 feet) along the banks of the Bhaga River, it is the preferred overnight stop for travelers on the Manali-Leh Highway and those heading toward the Shinku La pass.

Jispa to Deepak Tal (Lake)

Deepak Tal is a stunning, high-altitude glacial lake located at an elevation of 3,750 meters (12,300 feet) in the Lahaul Valley. It is one of the most popular and accessible scenic stops on the Manali-Leh Highway.

Deepak Tal to Suraj Tal (Lake)

Suraj Tal, or the “Lake of the Sun God,” is a breathtaking glacial lake situated at an elevation of 4,890 meters (16,043 feet). It holds the distinction of being the third-highest lake in India and is the primary source of the Bhaga River.

Suraj Tal to Zing Zing Bar

Zing-Zing Bar is a hight altitude (4.270 m) roadside camp and way-station located in Lahal Valley.

Zing Zing Bar to Baralacha Pass

Baralacha La (or Baralacha Pass) is a legendary high-altitude pass at 4,890 meters (16,043 feet) in the Zanskar range. Known as the “Crossroads of the Himalayas,” it is the point where three mountain ranges—the Pir Panjal, Zanskar, and Great Himalayas—converge.

Baralacha Pass to Manali

After that return back to Manali.
